Our hearts go out to our South Simcoe Police Service on the tragic loss of 2 police officers. It is hard to find words to express the sorrow and loss our community faces. On behalf of our association and members, flowers have been laid at the station to show our respects and support.
One of the officers was a Lefroy Icebreaker player. He even won a championship that he remembered and shared stories about so fondly. We wish to honour him in the future once we respectfully obtain permission to use his name.
We have placed an order for small helmet stickers to honour both officers and they be distributed among the players at no cost. We feel that this is something that we can do to show support for our police service and community. Players wearing the stickers are completely voluntary.
They will be set to arrive and be distributed by October 30th.
