WAY TO GO BANTAM 2!
Submitted By gferguson on Tuesday, January 17, 2017
The Bantam 2 team participated this past weekend in Welland, Ontario in the Ernie Clayton Annual Hockey Tournament.  Game one was against the Niagara areas best team Pelham #3 which had only lost one game all season.  The Icebreakers skated away with a 4-2 victory and had the arena lobby asking who was this team.  Games two and three were a win and a loss and some questionable officiating.  The team finished with the 2nd ranking out of 10 teams and advanced to the Sunday Semi Finals to face the same "Best Team Around" Pelham #3.  Bantam 2 knocked them out of the tournament with a very convincing 5-0 victory and set the table for a Final game Sunday afternoon vs Welland #3.

Down 2-0 after two periods the team went to work scoring early in the 3rd period and finally tying the game with just over 2 minutes left in regulation forcing a 4 on 4 overtime.  In an exciting overtime Welland scored to take the Tournament title 3-2.  Congrats to the Players and thanks to the coaches and families for a fun weekend.  The team heads back to Tournament play this weekend in Wasaga Beach eager to get back in the Finals and bring home the Championship!
